A revised edition of the timeless business classic—updated to help today’s readers succeed more quickly in a rapidly changing world. For decades, The One Minute Manager® has helped millions achieve more successful professional and personal lives. While the principles it lays out are timeless, our world has changed drastically since the book’s publication. The exponential rise of technology, global flattening of markets, instant communication, and pressures on corporate workforces to do more with less—including resources, funding, and staff—have all revolutionized the world in which we live and work. Now, Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson have updated The One Minute Manger to introduce the book’s powerful, important lessons to a new generation. In their concise, easy-to-read story, they teach readers three very practical secrets about leading others—and explain why these techniques continue to work so well. As compelling today as it was thirty years ago, this classic parable of a young man looking for an effective manager is more relevant and useful than ever.

THE INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER: OVER HALF A MILLION COPIES SOLD In The Challenger Sale, Matthew Dixon and Brent Adamson share the secret to sales success: don't just build relationships with customers. Challenge them What's the secret to sales success? If you're like most business leaders, you'd say it's fundamentally about relationships - and you'd be wrong. The best salespeople don't just build relationships with customers. They challenge them. Matthew Dixon, Brent Adamson, and their colleagues at CEB have studied the performance of thousands of sales reps worldwide. And what they discovered may be the biggest shock to conventional sales wisdom in decades. The Challenger Sale argues that classic relationship-building is the wrong approach. Every sales rep in the world falls into one of five distinct profiles, and while all of these types of reps can deliver average performance, only one - the Challenger - delivers consistently high performance. Instead of bludgeoning customers with facts and features, Challengers approach customers with insights about how they can save or make money. They tailor their message to the customer's specific needs. They are assertive, pushing back when necessary and taking control of the sale. Any sales rep, once equipped with the right tools, can drive higher levels of customer loyalty and, ultimately, greater growth. Matthew Dixon and Brent Adamson are managing directors with CEB's Sales Executive Council in Washington, D.C.

The biblical principles found in The 7 Minute Spiritual Manager simplify spiritual management and increase spiritual reactions and reaction time when incorporated with the basic concepts of management. The book serves as a resource and an assessment tool. The seven-minute spiritual manager establishes a spiritually intuitive action plan for goals and objectives which lead to purpose; and decrees to the soul that as a result of spiritual practice (obedience), God will initiate and support thoughts and actions which will produce optimum outcomes in spite of obstacles and difficult situations. The spiritual manager strives for spiritual consistency and avoidance of flesh-laden distractions to close the time gap between events, thought for resolution, and spiritual reaction. The Bible, as the foundation of a spiritual action plan, serves as a resource for supporting and assessing progress towards godly purpose. The spiritual manager, unable to remove completely the burden of sin from worldly surroundings, empowers the soul to contradict the appeal of sin (wrong choices) to our weakest points. He or she invalidates and lessens sinful opportunities while maximizing spiritual production. The spiritual manager's ultimate goal then evolves from one of satisfying a temporary need, to attaining ongoing spiritual enlightenment and fulfillment.

They're baaaack! Luke, Stone, AB, Johnny, Fat Hands, Mak and the rest of the crew are back for another foray into the seedy underworld of the Famiglia Fabrasia. Mak, the ex-FBI agent, blackmails Luke Fabrasia, the head of the famed Fabrasia crime family. Luke, whose unknown, until recently, half brother and FBI agent Joe Stone turned family informant, is put between a rock and a hard place by his ex-officemate Mak. The counterfeiting scheme devised by the two now-dead MIT students has run its course; and Mak needs more money, that is, real money, not counterfeit money. Luke has come up with an intricate plan to satisfy Mak, protect his newly found brother, and save his number 1 captain, AB, from prison as well as eliminate an old family foe, Gino Campanelli. The plan has many twists and turns but not how Luke and the boys designed it. If you were surprised by the ending of the first installment, then brace yourself. This story has an unpredictable ending you won't see coming.

If you’re like a lot of us, for years you’ve been making resolutions and promises about becoming physically fit. Despite all your good intentions, though, somehow it never quite goes according to plan. But you can break that cycle. In Fit at Last, bestselling business author Ken Blanchard and fitness authority Tim Kearin show how Ken, at age seventy-three, finally was able to make lasting improvements in his health and fitness, including dropping over thirty pounds in a year. In each chapter, Ken shares the very personal story of his ups and downs—involving, among other things, a puppy, a Hawaiian tour bus full of widows, and a fifty-year college reunion—while Tim offers expert advice and wisdom gained from over forty years in the fitness industry. Following through on your efforts to get fit requires leadership—personal leadership. Early on, Ken realized the same concepts he’d been using for years to help people lead organizations also could help him stick to his program. Here, you’ll learn how Ken and Tim applied the Situational Leadership II approach to set SMART goals, diagnose Ken’s progress in each of the six core areas of fitness, and match them with the leadership styles necessary to get Ken to the next level in each area. Certainly there is a wealth of excellent fitness advice here—but ultimately, this is a book about commitment. People don’t fail because they don’t know what to do—they fail because they just don’t do it. Using the tools in this book, you’ll be able to move from simply being interested in fitness to making a lasting commitment—one that will add a spring to your step, a smile to your face, and years to your life.

Ranger began in the 1870s near a Texas Ranger camp in northeastern Eastland County. It remained a farming community of about 700 people until October 17, 1917, when an oil well on the McCleskey farm, south of town, ushered in one of the best-known oil discoveries. Within months, Ranger's population had surged to approximately 30,000, including investors, speculators, wildcatters, oil field workers, curious onlookers, and the usual criminal element attracted to oil boomtowns. Crime became so rampant that the Texas Rangers eventually were called in to intercede. Oil production peaked in 1919 before tapering off. Images of America: Ranger covers a period of about 75 years from the town's beginnings to 1950.
