BONDI HARVEST brings you the very best of sundrenched, simple, delicious and healthy Australian food and flavours from the most beautiful beach in the world. With a style that sits somewhere between a young Jamie Oliver and a Corona ad, Guy Turland (chef, surfer, free-diver and YouTube cooking sensation) captures the easy, laidback, sundrenched essence of Bondi Beach. His recipes are chock-a-block with sunny, seasonal, vibrant, and zingily fresh flavours, designed to be eaten and enjoyed by friends and family. Celebrating good times and focusing on delicious tastes, simplicity, sustainability, seasonal cooking, fresh whole foods and - most importantly - not taking life too seriously, this is food, flavours and lifestyle from the most beautiful beach in the world. After working as a chef in some of Australia's finest restaurants, Guy Turland and business partner Mark Alston started their YouTube cooking show in 2012, with only a surfboard, a camera and a camp oven, cooking food al fresco in some of Bondi's most iconic beauty spots. Now BONDI HARVEST is a hit weekly YouTube cooking show, with over 48,000 subscribers. Guy's recipes are featured on The Guardian's website and the two men have opened a restaurant in Sydney in addition to the Depot cafe in Bondi. Guy has also cooked live on NBC's Today Show. Writing The Australian Beach

Writing the Australian Beach is the first book in fifteen years to explore creative and cultural representations of this iconic landscape, and how writers and scholars have attempted to understand and depict it. Although the content chiefly focuses on Australia, the beach as both a location and idea resonates deeply with readers around the world. This edited collection includes three sections. Forms of Beach Writing examines the history of beach writing in Australia and in a number of forms: screenwriting, social media writing, and food writing. In turn, Multiplicities of Australian Beach Writing examines how forms of writing—poetry, travel writing, horror film, and memoir—engage with some specific beaches in Australia. And, finally, Reading the Beach as a Text considers how the beach itself functions in cultural narratives: how we walk the beach; the revealing story of beach soccer; and the design and use of ocean baths. Given its scope, the collection offers a unique resource for scholars of Australian culture and creative writing, and for all those interested in Australian beaches.

What is it to feel homeless? How does it feel to be without the orienting geography of home? Going beyond homelessness as a housing issue, this book uniquely explores the embodied, emotional experiences of homelessness. In doing so, Robinson reveals much about existing gaps in service responses, in community perceptions, and in the ways in which homelessness most often becomes visible as a problem for policy makers. She argues that the emotional dimension of displacement must be central to contemporary practices of researching, understanding, writing, and responding to homelessness. She situates the issue of homelessness at the nexus of important, broader intellectual and methodological developments that take bodily and spatial experience as their starting point.

Case Studies In Human Ecology

This volume was developed to meet a much noted need for accessible case study material for courses in human ecology, cultural ecology, cultural geography, and other subjects increasingly offered to fulfill renewed student and faculty interest in environmental issues. The case studies, all taken from the journal Human Ecology: An Interdisciplinary Jouma~ represent a broad cross-section of contemporary research. It is tempting but inaccurate to sug gest that these represent the "Best of Human Ecology." They were selected from among many outstanding possibilities because they worked well with the organization of the book which, in turn, reflects the way in which courses in human ecology are often organized. This book provides a useful sample of case studies in the application of the perspective of human ecology to a wide variety of problems in dif ferent regions of the world. University courses in human ecology typically begin with basic concepts pertaining to energy flow, feeding relations, ma terial cycles, population dynamics, and ecosystem properties, and then take up illustrative case studies of human-environmental interactions. These are usually discussed either along the lines of distinctive strategies of food pro curement (such as foraging or pastoralism) or as adaptations to specific habitat types or biomes (such as the circumpolar regions or arid lands).
