“Rogers made history.” —Sports Illustrated Robbie Rogers knows better than most that keeping secrets can crush you. But for much of his life Robbie lived in paralyzing fear that sharing his big secret would cost him the love of his family and his career as a professional soccer player. So he never told anyone what was destroying his soul, both on and off the field. While the world around Robbie was changing with breathtaking speed, he knew that for a gay man playing a professional team sport it might as well be 1958. He could be a professional soccer player. Or he could be an out gay man. He couldn’t do both. Then last year, at the age of twenty-five and after nearly stepping away from a brilliant career—one that included an NCAA Championship, winning the MLS Cup, and competing in the Olympics—he chose to tell the truth. But instead of facing the rejection he feared, he was embraced—by his family, by his teammates, and his fans. In Coming Out to Play, Robbie takes readers on his incredible journey from terrified teenager to a trailblazing out and proud professional soccer player for the L.A. Galaxy, who has embraced his new identity as a role model and champion for those still struggling with the secrets that keep them from living their dreams. From the Trade Paperback edition.

A collection of essays and articles written over a 30 year span by a seasoned sandplay therapist. When Pixies Come Out to Play: A Play Therapy Primer is the work of a true master of the craft of sandplay therapy informed by Jungian theory and the pioneering work of Dora Kallf with whom Lois Carey studied. Woven into the exquisite tapestry of this lovely book is history and theory of the method, rich case material told in a warm and moving voice which reflects the extraordinary empathy of this remarkable sandplay and play therapist . . . A wealth of information packed into a highly readable book that just like the author herself will be a cherished gift to us all for a long time to come. —David A. Crenshaw, Ph.D., ABPP, RPT-S Clinical Director "The metaphor that comes to mind as I read this book is that of the aboriginal painting—a large canvas of lots of varied sized and colored dots which represents a map of the territory. This book provides an extensive map of the territory, that is Play Therapy, Child Therapy and sand play as it applies to children, with a particular Jungian slant. I would recommend this to practitioners and students who can learn from its wisdom." —Aideen Taylor de Faoite, author of Narrative Play Therapy: Theory and Practice. "When Pixies Come Out to Play is a wonderful book for any clinician who uses creative mediums in their therapeutic work. It is a book that provides a back drop to understanding art therapy, play therapy and sandplay from a Jungian perspective. It provides a history and theoretical framework to create context and a lens to view the work through." —Majella Ryan, Biodynamic and Integrative Psychotherapist, Child Psychotherapist.

Liturgy is not a religious frill or Sunday morning ceremonial exercise. It is a communal response to the sacred. The liturgies, ceremonies, and rituals in our lives are the stuff of reality and have the power to heal and inspire us. From archaic times they have had this capacity, as they have always been our interaction with God and the gods. This book is filled with essays and stories, ancient and modern. Some of its liturgies are tried and proven, creative, ecumenical services of worship and others are nonreligious, spirit-filled events. Can God Come Out To Play? is aimed at those who are looking for a spiritual approach to today's challenges and are interested in imaginative forms and methods to guide them. Educators, clergy, divinity students, event facilitators, care workers, and environmentalists will appreciate this book as a valuable resource. And all its readers will have one thing in common--a willingness to recognize God as their mysterious, playful companion.

There are times when life is stranger than fiction! No one would believe it except for the people living those experiences at that time. This book is about a boy who was raped by a gang of teenage girls when he was eight years old and how this event took a happy boy into his own personal hell. Hiding his pain he married and helped his adopted children face teenage pregnancy get through the horrors of addiction to crack, cocaine and a life of prostitution and stood by his son when he became involved in gang violence. He found that God was not dead as he thought when unexpectedly a miracle saved his life. Becoming a Christian he found that the spiritual realm really existed as he was exposed to witchcraft both within and outside the Church for the first time in his life. God has put a damaged family back together, and healed him from the pain of rape.

ALL NET PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THIS BOOK ARE DONATED TO THE NATIONAL MS SOCIETY. Check out Bundy singing one of his songs to his Granddaughter at her Bat Mitzvah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_CQCy7f1Xw PLAY ON WORDS is another term for pun. Pun is the humorous use of a word or phrase so as to emphasize or suggest its diff erent meanings or applications. Play can mean a dramatic composition or piece; a performance, as on the stage; exercise or activity for amusement or recreation; fun or jest, as opposed to seriousness (Dictionary.com). This book is full of humor, puns, and lots of fun. H. Bundy Shaw loved words. He loved the diff erent uses, the different meanings, and the different pronunciations of words. Bundy also loved to play the piano, sing, and make people smile. Most of all, he loved his family, friends, and extended family. This book is a sixty-year history of Bundys writing, beginning with poems he wrote during World War II, through his career with Playtex, his retirement in southern Florida until his death in 2002. He wrote lyrics for skits at the Playtex Annual Meeting, which included Trouble in Midriff City about the new Long Line Living Bra. He wrote lyrics and poems for anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, and bar and bat mitzvahs. Encompassed in them was a complete biography of the person or people he was honoring. He also wrote a musical, Our Fair Couple, which is a spoof of My Fair Lady. Bundy never earned any money from his lyrics and writing, so all the profits from the sale of this book will be donated to the National MS Society in his memory. It is my hope that these writings will bring enjoyment to you.

Nasser Hussain was acclaimed as England's best cricket captain since Mike Brearley. Under his leadership, a side more famous for its batting collapses and ability to seize defeat from the jaws of victory discovered its backbone. With coach Duncan Fletcher he put some steel into the side; they became a difficult team to beat. Hussain wore his heart on his sleeve: railing against complacency, defying critics of his place in the batting line-up and making a principled stand at the last World Cup when the ECB seemed incapable of it. Expect passion, integrity, insight and candour in his eagerly awaited autobiography.
