In this eagerly awaited follow-up to his international bestsellers Anam Cara and Eternal Echoes, John O'Donohue turns his attention to the subject of beauty - the divine beauty that calls the imagination and awakens all that is noble in the human heart. In these uncertain times of global conflict and crisis, we are riven with anxiety; our trust in the future has lost its innocence, for we know now that anything can happen from one second to the next. In such an unsheltered world, it may sound naive to suggest that this might be the moment to invoke and awaken beauty, yet this is exactly the claim that this book seeks to explore. DIVINE BEAUTY is a gentle but urgent call to awaken. O'Donohue opens our eyes, hearts and minds to the wonder of our own relationship with beauty. Rather than 'covering' this theme, he uncovers it, exposing the infinity and mystery of its breadth. His words return us home to the dignity of silence, the profundity of stillness, the power of thought and perception, and the eternal grace and generosity of beauty's presence. In this masterful and revelatory work, O'Donohue encourages our greater intimacy with beauty, and celebrates it for what it really is: a homecoming of the human spirit. As he focuses on the classical, medieval and Celtic traditions, on art, music, literature, nature and language, O'Donohue reveals how beauty's invisible embrace invites us towards new heights of passion and creativity. DIVINE BEAUTY is an exquisite treasury of Forms of the Beautiful. Its surface employs narrative, image, anecdote and myth, while into the silence of its subtext are sown seeds of reflection that gradually blossom in the heart.

“The Beauty and the Glory of the Divine” by Alison M. Down is an astute look at the Exodus story that focuses on one Figure that too often remains hidden behind a monumental figure of Moses, and manifold events of the book–on God, the Leader of the Exodus. As we live in an efficiency driven society, we tend to look at actions and results as the highest priority. While the book of Exodus is indeed packed with actions, and as it results in a radical change in history, many Christians tend to overlook the main purpose of the book of Exodus. The main purpose of this, and of every other book of the Holy Scripture, and of the Word Incarnate is to reveal God the Father. Alison in her dynamic study has grabbed the very nerve of the Exodus narrative: the revelation of the Divine Holiness and other attributes and characteristics of God to sinful humankind. As this emphasis is lost–and, unfortunately, it’s been lost in too many publications–the main purpose of the book of Exodus remains only as a potential. On the other hand, Alison helps a reader to refocus from a traditional study of peoples and events of Exodus, to the God of Exodus. The study is carefully organized after the events of the Exodus, yet with each chapter, with each page we come closer not just to the Promised Land, but we come to better understand God-the true Leader of the Exodus. As a systematic theologian I see that this book is needed for two main reasons. First, it provides a unique focus of God. Second, “The Beauty and the Glory of the Divine” by Alison M. Down helps Christians to bridge what seems to be a gap between the God of the Old Testament and His Son Jesus Christ. This study is fun to read, as a reader would certainly share in Alison’s excitement over many personal discoveries. The book is also valuable as it provides numerous parallel stories and texts from other books of the Bible. That solidifies this research and makes reading more diverse and interesting. “I would certainly recommend this material to any diligent student of the book of Exodus.” --Dr. Oleg Zhigankov, PhD, Systematic and Historical Biblical Studies; Pastor North Bay and South River Churches, Ontario Conference of Seventh Day Adventists

This book is addressing divine womanhood, who women are in God through Jesus Christ, fashion, skin care, hair care, friend girls, mental health, women as warriors, physical health, and men. This book is also a tool for the young woman who may be a babe in Christ; written for the purpose of jump-starting her faith in Christ. Of course, these topics are just as much of a concern to the Godly woman as it is to women as a whole. God's standard for the modern-day woman of God is timeless. God's standards for the modern-day woman is still alive and relevant. God our Heavenly Father, Jesus our Lord, and Holy Spirit who is God's Spirit are one and is still active in regards to earthbound activity. Women of God are still called and expected to live their lives at a higher standard. Divine womanhood and regal womanhood go hand in hand. Women are called and expected to live a lifestyle pleasing to the Father. Women of God are called to be divine and regal regardless of their social status, economic status, race, and nationality. Divine, in regards to this book, simply means Godlike, beautiful, delightful, and excellent in physical form as well as in character. Regal, in regards to this book, simply means dignified and excellent in physical form as well as in character. The world prides itself on running after superficial status and things. However, women of God are instructed to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be given unto them as well. The woman of God's top priority is to first seek the kingdom of God. The woman of God's ultimate goal is to become one with God through our Lord Jesus Christ and to be led of His Holy Spirit. May the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ continue to ring out in to our natural as well as our spiritual ears, "If ye love me, keep my commandments".

Spiritual nature photos are seen not only with the eyes but, also with the soul. Truly feel the joy when a butterfly crawls on someone's hand. Know the peace of the frog who is sunning himself on a rock. The excitement you would get when a small little Chickadee swoops down out of a tree to feed out of your hand. Watching a sunset no matter where you are, and not knowing what colors will be displayed for the evening's canvas. To connect with nature you not only connect with your soul, you connect with God.
