Dallas Willard spent his life making eternal living concrete for his friends. With his unexpected passing in 2013, the world lost a brilliant mind. The wide breadth of his impact inspired friends, family, colleagues, students and leaders of the church to gather their reflections on this celebrated yet humble theologian and philosopher. Richard Foster, a friend for over forty years, writes of Dallas: "He possessed in his person a spiritual formation into Christlikeness that was simply astonishing to all who were around him. Profound character formation had transpired in his body and mind and spirit until love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control were at the very center of the deep habit-structures of his life. He exhibited a substantively transformed life. Dallas was simply soaked in the presence of the living Christ." Curated by Gary Moon, director of the Dallas Willard Center, this medley of Dallas's wise teaching and lived model of Christlikeness—as well as snapshots and "Dallas-isms"—will move and motivate readers. Whether influenced by him as a family member, close friend, advisor, professor, philosopher, minister or reformer, contributors bring refreshing insight into not only his ideas and what shaped him, but also to his contagious theology of grace and joy. Contributors include: Richard J. Foster Jane Willard J. P. Moreland John Ortberg James Bryan Smith Alan Fadling Ruth Haley Barton and dozens more

The island of Crete was a tough place. It was to the Roman world what the urban ghettos and favelas of today's great cities are to our neighborhoods. Paul needed a young missionary with energy, zeal, wisdom, determination, faith, and courage to embark on a mission to the fabled but fateful home of the Minotaur and the mythological birthplace of Zeus. Charged with the task of finding elders for the churches and grounding these churches in the faith of the Apostles was the unenviable task given to a driven, passionate young preacher named Titus. The instruction of the missionary-theologian Paul to one of his sons in the ministry beckons the reader to follow into the Labyrinth of Crete and see that in both the first century and in the contemporary urban setting, God's redemptive grace is adequate to change both life and eternity.

Secrets of Living is based on the teachings of Bhagawad Gita, one of the most widely read books in the world. In today's busy life, we hardly get any time to meditate deeper into the meaning and purpose of life. We tend to take certain things for granted such as our status, wealth, educational achievements, etc.and also presume that they will be given to us in our next birth. But scriptures do not endorse this view. All our possessions, or the lack of them, are the result of our karma in the previous births. We rewrite our destiny everyday for our future births. Hence we should decide our actions in accordance with the teachings of our scriptures and not allow our materialistic aspirations to distort our understanding and conduct in this world. Also one should not wait till the old age to start reading the scriptures. The right age to read scriptures is as early as one gets the consciousness so as to minimize the loss of deep, illuminating thoughts which an insightful reading of Bhagavad Gita entails and hence, engage in righteous actions. The divine wisdom of Lord Krishna, encapsulated in the Bhagavad Gita, is addressed to each and evert individual to help solving perplexing problems and progress towards a brighter future.

The apostle John referred to himself as, "the disciple whom Jesus loved." That describes one who lives in view of another's love...like a bride who takes the identity of her husband by taking his last name. So it should be with every Christian living in the name of Jesus. This book presents three fresh perspectives--- the "Way of Living Water," the "Witness of Truth," and the "I am Life" methods---John uses in his gospel to prove Jesus is the Christ who brings eternal life to the believer, and how that eternal life, with all its benefits, should be applied right now for Living in His Name, for God's purpose and glory here on earth. Living our lives in His name means living in the way Jesus lived, living in His truth, and living in His life of the Holy Spirit.

Aristotle And The Theology Of The Living Immortals

This book argues that Aristotle used "the most traditional Greek ideas about the gods" to develop and defend his physical, metaphysical, and ethical teachings. This revolutionary thesis stands in stark contrast to studies of Aristotle's texts that normally portray him as a "natural theologian" using rational tools to elaborate his own conception of God or the gods. Bodeus argues that Aristotle is more closely aligned with popular Greek religion than is usually thought, and attention to the ethical and political writings reveals more about Aristotle's resources for conceiving the gods than study of his theoretical works.

The relation of the eternal God to time and history has perplexed theologians and philosophers for centuries. How can Christians describe a God who is distinct from time but acts within it? This book presents one creative and profound approach to this perennial theme by examining the theology of Karl Barth. Contrary to interpretations of Barth that suggest he held a view of eternity as abstracted from time and history, this comprehensive study suggests that he provides a more complex and fruitful understanding. Rather than defining eternity in a negative relation to time, Barth relates eternity and time with reference to such doctrines as the Trinity and incarnation. This ensures overcoming what he saw as the Babylonian Captivity of an abstract philosophical definition of eternity that developed in the Western tradition. The central argument of the book suggests an analogia trinitaria temporis, a basic analogy between the eternal being of God and God's creating and activity within time. Also, implicit in Barth's view is a narrative view of time, similar to the view of Paul Ricoeur, which unfolds as the Church Dogmatics develops.

Marked By Heaven. Living Eternity on Earth. Driven by her ruthless career ambition and Type A personality, Roxeanne Wermuth was unwittingly following the path of her abusive, perfectionist father. Yet, it was only after receiving a diagnosis of the most severe form of Multiple Sclerosis that she fell victim to deep depression and the overwhelming desire to take her own life. It was then that one glimpse of Heaven changed everything. Near death and in a 24-hour coma, Roxanne caught a glimpse of the outskirts of Heaven. Under a deep blue eternity . . . flowers bloomed, colorful and vivid, beyond human description . . . Eternity put everything into perspective. After losing her hair due to treatment for her illness, Roxanne—not without reservation— tattooed the flowers of heaven onto her scalp. The flowers inked on my head are an expression of what God inked on my heart. Making a radical statement to everyone she meets, Roxanne remains a walking billboard for the beauty—despite the pain—in this world and the world to come. Whether struggling with relationships, loss, anger, depression, or chronic illness, Inked for Eternity will give you hope and inspiration to come out strong on the other side of hard times and help you rewrite your future.
