In Gods of Prophecy (Part 3 of Daughter of Dreams), Behrtith, a ghost, hides in Baebelle. At 14 years old, she is a Virgin cloistered in the Celestial Temple, dedicated to the Gods to ascend to Acolyte, Cenobite, Celestial. Not heavenly, Celestials. They are the most powerful Mind Witches known, passionless, ruthless, murderous, led by a Sibyl who secretly is an ancient liche named Harla. Behrtith knows of Harla, as does Perelle, the ghost of a past Sibyl. Baebelle, trained as a Preceptive and a Tark, has become a Preceptemotive and a Barban by living with and being tutored by Ravia (Part 2, The Swan Goddess), an Acolyte who is a highborn native Barban. They are in love, an alien passion in the Temple. They mean to escape, and for help, must get to Perelle, who hides in a crypt under the Temple. Trouble is, the Gods begin giving prophetic Oracles through Baebelle. It invests her as Celestial while yet a Virgin, too valuable to be let leave, and too powerful to be let live. Behrtith faces violation by one King and murder by another, and naive Baebelle learns how Gods, Kings, Sex and the Sibyl are deadly dangers to innocent virgins.

More than any other topic, prophecy represents the point at which the Divine meets the human, the Absolute meets the relative. How can a human being attain the Word of God? In what manner does God, when conceived as eternal and transcendent, address corporeal, transitory creatures? What happens to God's divine Truth when it is beheld by minds limited in their power to apprehend, and influenced by the intellectual currents of their time and place? How were these issues viewed by the great Jewish philosophers of the past, who took the divine communication and all it entails seriously, while at the same time desired to understand it as much as humanly possible in the course of dealing with a myriad of other issues that occupied their attention? This book offers an in-depth study of prophecy in the thought of seven of the leading medieval Jewish philosophers: R. Saadiah Gaon, R. Judah Halevi, Maimonides, Gersonides, R. Hasdai Crescas, R. Joseph Albo and Baruch Spinoza. It attempts to capture the `original voice' of these thinkers by looking at the intellectual milieus in which they developed their philosophies, and by carefully analyzing their views in their textual contexts. It also deals with the relation between the earlier approaches and the later ones. Overall, this book presents a significant model for narrating the history of an idea.

Only God—who is all-knowing—can tell what lies ahead with 100 percent accuracy. Readers will examine ten past prophecies and their astounding fulfillments, all of which serve as profound evidence for both unbelievers and believers that God’s Word can be trusted. Readers will also explore ten future prophecies and see how today’s events foreshadow the fact Earth’s final hour is near. This resource will encourage believers toward a deeper confidence in the Word and equip them with a powerful defense against those who question the Bible’s truth claims.

In this collection of twelve essays, the editors attempt to define the poet as prophet in Western literature and to select the general attributes of prophetic writing. The essays focus, in the main, on the prophetic tradition in the English-speaking world, as well as on a sufficient number of writers outside that tradition, to prove that all prophetic writing shares common features.
