The last in the GREEK LETTERS quartet is a thrilling tale of modern fiction. It also delves back 200 years linking the story to the adventures of Samuel Carr and his descendants to the present day characters whose exploits have also featured in the COMING OF AGE series. As such it can be described as the last book in the complete series JIGSAW.The book stands on its own and can be read as a single volume. In MUCH MORE THAN HURT Rosalind, once an air-hostess, the main protagonist in CAST A HOROSCOPE heads for pension age, while her illegitimate son Andrew and the man who fathered him are back in Rosalind's life; they and their relatives will discover that there is no escaping the past. The action takes place against a colourful and historical background: secrecy; romance; tall ships; ancient Greek sites; forest fire; Olympic Games; dysfunctional families; threats; climate change and rich locations in England, Greece: especially the Peloponnese regions of Messinia, the Mani, Arcadia and the Argolid as well as a wider Europe, Beginning with psycho-therapy in the idyllic Greek island of Corfu the characters become uneasy that the book Rosalind has written is not fiction, travelling to many of the locations in the book intent on proving their point, while other antagonists resort to blackmail. Andrew's wife Sky finds his obsessive business ideas threatening their marriage and Alice crumbles towards insanity and unfulfilled desire. The scientific twins Ib and Jorgen breeze through life like Mid-European Ant and Decs. But all are haunted by events mirroring the past, even to the names of the 19th century protagonists Soula, Panayiota, Plato and Aristotle. The menace felt in other books in the series is present, making compelling reading, and accompanies the characters through to the last page. The author's career as a tour operator and travel business owner is evident with attention to historical detail and descriptive travel writing, lending the story very much to holiday reading. The book has a very wide readership appeal.
